Membership – Shaheen Golf and Country Club Patenga

Serving and Retired Armed Forces Officers can become a member under this category.
Serving civil government officers of the rank of Joint Secretary (or equivalent) and above can become a member under this category. Officials serving on contract basis or part-time are not eligible to become member under this category. However, EC may consider the eligibility for any special appointment holders.

Must be 25 years of age.
Must be a graduate.
Must be a regular tax payer.
Senior Management level officials of reputed Multi National and National Companies/Banks/Firms having at least eight (8) years of working experience.
Chairman/Managing Director/Directors and Business Owners of reputed
CIP, Celebrities, Reputed Civil Dignitaries.
Retired civil government officers.

All Ambassadors/High Commissioners, Embassy/High Commission Officials, officers of all UN Organizations/World Bank/ADB or others enjoying Diplomatic Facilities can become a Members under this category.

Foreign Nationals working in Bangladesh having valid work permit in any reputed companies are eligible for membership.

Prestigious Bangladeshi corporate body/company/ bank may apply for minimum two-member corporate membership for five (5) years period at a time. On expiry of this period, the same can be renewed under the terms and payments in vogue for subsequent five (5) years and so on. These facilities will be provided to those entities who have made minimum contribution of BDT 20 lac per annum under corporate social responsibility.
Members nominated by concerned entity in this category would be entitled to avail the club facilities, but the individuals can be replaced with new incumbents if Senior Management of the entity advises in writing to change. Their spouses and dependents will not be considered as Dependent Member.

Spouses of the members may become a dependent member of the club without paying additional entrance fee till the member is alive or his/her membership remains valid or marital status remain valid. It is the responsibility of individual member to notify the Club for any change in marital status and update accordingly.
Children of a member may become a dependent member and remain so up to the age of 25 years. After 25 years of age only a dependent member with valid handicap may apply for full-fledged membership as a local Bangladeshi. Minimum age for dependent members to apply should be 25 years. Dependent-turned regular members will avail all the facilities like a regular member. However, their dependents again will not be offered regular membership at discounted rate.

After the demise of a member, his/her spouse would be given Single Spouse Membership. Spouse concerned has to apply within one year from the date of demise of the member concerned to avail this membership.
Minor children of the deceased member will be considered as Dependent Member up to 25 years of age. After attaining 25 years of age, any such dependent holding valid handicap may apply for full membership with discounted rate.
If a Single Spouse Member expires, his / her dependent members will continue to avail facilities mentioned above.

To facilitate and encourage senior citizens to golfing Single Senior Citizen Membership may be granted under this criterion. Spouse and children of these members are not entitled to use club facilities.

Any individual (eminent personalities or club members) with outstanding National or International importance or outstanding contribution to the society and/or SGCCP may be awarded with Honorary Membership, for ten (10) years or such a period as the EC deems appropriate. Following criteria may be applied for the nomination of Honorary Membership:

Individuals who have imparted exceptional service to the Club and/or the community over an extended period, and/or
Have achieved exceptional accomplishment as a representative of the Club or the community, and/or,
Have imparted exceptional service to the game of golf or any other sports discipline and/or
Are eligible by reason of their exceptional performance in the holding of public office to the benefit of SGCCP, and/or
Are regarded as role-models and have demonstrated an outlook and demeanor which reflects dedication to the values of the Club and/or
Have shown extraordinary commitment and selfless service to the Club and/or the community.

Honorary Members shall be entitled to the courtesy of the Club facilities at all times. Their privileges shall, for the duration of their membership, be the same as of “Private Service Holder and Local Bangladeshi (Civil) Members”.
Honorary Members shall not be liable for entrance fees, annual subscriptions or green fees. However, they shall neither be entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Club nor shall have any voting rights. Besides, he/she shall also be exempted from becoming any member of EC and shall not hold any office at the club.
